Charles W. Brooks was only 43 when his colon cancer was discovered, after a severe "stomach virus" during Christmas 1996, which eventually led him to the hospital for immediate diagnosis and surgery. He lost 100 pounds that first month. His battle with agressive colon cancer lasted only 18 months, leaving behind a wife and 3 children.

He was the 8th person on his mom's side of the family to have colon cancer, therefore, our children are at high risk.
